History as Konga Group CEO, Prince Ekeh, wins Forbes, Euro Knowledge global awards

In a landmark moment for African innovation, Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, the visionary Group CEO of Konga, has etched his name into history by sweeping two elite international awards in one unforgettable evening. The Oxford-educated leader scooped the Distinguished Euro Knowledge Award for Emerging Leadership in Digital Transformation and the Forbes Best of Africa E-Commerce Leadership Award 2025, spotlighting his pivotal role in reshaping the continent's online marketplace.

Ekeh's triumph unfolded at a high-profile gala in London's storied House of Lords, where he not only accepted the accolades but also captivated the audience with a stirring keynote address. As the first African to claim both honors on the same night, his success underscores a rising tide of homegrown talent driving digital progress across borders.

A serial entrepreneur with deep roots in tech, Ekeh launched his career at just 19 while studying abroad in the UK. He founded Yudala, an early e-commerce venture, before channeling his expertise into acquiring Konga in 2018. What followed was a bold overhaul: under his stewardship, the platform evolved from a fledgling site into a powerhouse, weaving together seamless payments via KongaPay, reliable delivery through Konga Logistics, and innovative hybrid stores that blend virtual and physical shopping experiences.

Today, Konga's ecosystem empowers a vast network, serving 4 million customers, backing 195,000 merchants, and partnering with countless logistics providers to fuel everyday commerce. Yet Ekeh's impact stretches far beyond profits. Through the Leo-Stan Ekeh Foundation, he has championed digital literacy and access for more than 250,000 Nigerians, turning abstract ideas into tangible opportunities.

Hailing from a lineage of pioneers, Ekeh carries forward the legacy of his father, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, who founded Zinox Group, and his mother, Lady Chioma Ekeh, the driving force behind TD Africa. Their trailblazing spirit in Africa's tech landscape has clearly inspired his own relentless pursuit of inclusive growth.

In his address, Ekeh shared reflections that resonated deeply with fellow innovators. "When we took over Konga, we picked the tougher road: constructing the very foundations of digital trade for Nigeria and beyond," he said. He challenged the crowd to rethink philanthropy, adding, "Real change isn't handouts; it's creating pathways that lift everyone." Looking ahead, he urged, "Tomorrow's game-changers won't squeeze into old molds. They'll craft fresh frameworks that welcome more voices to the table."

The glittering event drew an impressive array of guests, from Nigeria's Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, to Kwara State's First Lady, Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq. British heavyweights like Dragons' Den investor Richard Farleigh and Reebok co-founder Joe Foster added star power, forging connections that promise to amplify African stories on the world stage.

Ekeh's double victory arrives at a critical juncture for e-commerce in Africa, where rapid expansion meets untapped potential. As platforms like Konga scale up, they don't just sell goods; they build bridges to economic empowerment, one delivery at a time. For a continent poised on the edge of a digital boom, leaders like Prince Ekeh are not merely winning awards. They are rewriting the rules.
