The construction sector in Nigeria relies heavily on cement and related building materials (steel, sand, gravel, roofing, etc.), and cement is one of the most critical inputs. For building materials beyond cement (roofing sheets, steel reinforcement, blocks, roofing tiles, POP, etc.), several brands/companies exist (e.g., Nigerite for roofing / sheets; Vinest Global for mouldings, ceiling boards) but often the overall quality is more mixed; buyers must be careful?check for certifications, look at material standards, see testimonials. In summary, choosing the right cement or material brand in Nigeria means balancing cost, strength/durability, local availability, and ensuring the materials meet Nigeria?s relevant standards (e.g. Nigerian Industrial Standards, NIS). For large or structural projects, going with top brands (Dangote, Lafarge, BUA, Ashaka, etc.) may cost more but gives more safety, reliability, resale value, and fewer headaches.
